PHASE 4: DIRECTION/DESIGN Workshop
The Fox Sisters is made possible by a grant from the New Orleans Theater Association (NOTA)
PHASE 1: Research and Development
Initially conceived by Lori Deleon, PARADE, will focus on and explore the nature of moving people through space, the internal kinesthetic infrastructure of parade's themselves.
Starting this Season the project will begin its Research and Development phase in our LAB Program.
Conceived by Rebecca Elizabeth Hollingsworth. It has received R&D support, a generating language workshop with actors, was part of CAC's Summer Residency Works-in-Progress, and now will move into a direction and design workshop with a full slate of actors, several designers and under the guidance of Lyam Gable.
The piece shares the unreliable story of Maggie Fox and her sisters, three women heralded as the creators of Spiritualism and the séance. Using historical research and séance magic this memory play explores gaslighting, the consequences of repeating youthful cycles, and the haunting nature of trauma.
Collaborators include: Dan Schap, Lyam Gable, Mint Bryan, Michael Marina, Hannah Pepper Cunningham, Mary Pauley, Julie Dietz, Alex Wallace, Alex Smith, Owen Ever, Sergio Gonzalez, Josh Toups, Cammie West, Gerald Mclaughlin,
and Nadia Eiler.
