If my child can’t attend all sessions can they still perform?
-Yes! However there is a threshold of attendance required to perform. A student who misses four or more rehearsals will be not be able to perform at that session’s public performance.
Does my child HAVE to perform?
-No! If the public performance aspect is not for them no worries! They can certainly attend rehearsals without performing. We only ask they attend the performance in support of their peers.
What are the dates for The Winter/Spring Session?
-Those dates are not yet set, however they will follow the local school calendar from mid-January through early May.
How 'public’ is the Public Performance?
-At this time we are requesting that all audience members be in some way linked to the student performers. Family, friends, colleagues, teachers, and the like are all welcome.
Why do I need to pay a registration fee and what does it cover?
-As there are only 20 spots available, your registration fee ensures a spot for your child. Registration fees will be used to provide performance attire (Troupe T-Shirts) as well as food and beverage at the performance.
What if, after I register my child, they do not want to participate?
-Registration fees will not be returned.
Can my child attend one class to decide if they like it or not before paying for the full session?
-The short answer is no. However, in the event a child decides they no longer want to participate the parent will be refunded minus the cost of attended classes and a small cancellation fee.
What if my Child is under 13 Years old?
-If your child is not yet 13 they are not currently able to participate. However, with enough interest there is the possibility of a pre-teen troupe.
Can parents watch/attend rehearsals?
-Parents cannot attend rehearsals, but we welcome them with open arms to our public performances.
What does my child need to wear? do I need to purchase a ‘costume?’
-They should wear clothes that allow them to move without restriction. Jeans (so long as not too tight) are fine. Overly short skirts/shorts/pants will not be permitted. Nor will revealing clothing.
How does pick up/drop off work? What if my child drives/bikes/walks alone?
-There is a small cafe and waiting area at NOLA SPACES. Participants may arrive 5-10 minutes before the start of class. They must be picked up no later than 15 minutes after class has finished by a registered parent, relative, guardian. If your child is able to drive/walk/bike on their own the parent will fill out a form to that effect.
