THE GUMBO POT
Are you a maker who loves a focused challenge? Are you an artist interested in meeting and working with new colleagues to make art in new ways here in New Orleans? Then this is the program for you!
Selected applicants will be paired with another artist of different experience and skill than their own.
Up to four pairs throughout the season will be given funds, space, and admin/production support and be tasked with creating a theatrical interactive installation.
All installation will be open free to the public for an agreed upon period of time.
Theatrical background not needed.
Preference will be given to under represented communities.
MENTOR/MENTEE PROGRAM
Are you a visual artist or musician that’s always wanted to try your hand at lighting design? An Architect that wants to build a set? Are you a theater artist interested in switching skills? Then this program is for you!
Selected MENTEEs will be given a specified co-design or co-management role in one of our productions.
A MENTOR will be assigned to provide guidance, structural support, and practical kn0w-how to ensure the mentee is able to carry out their vision to the fullest potential in service of themselves and the production at large.
No previous experience in selected field is necessary.
Stipend provided for both mentee/mentor
Preference will be given to under represented communities both at large and in the specified field.
